| It's easy to submit a photo to be included
in the Arborwood.com Photo of the Week section!
Whether you have a great shot of Old Faithful, a nice
sunset picture, or a photo that perfectly captures the
charm of a Venetian canal, your photos are welcome
here. Of course, we do have a
few guidelines that are used when deciding which
photos are accepted. These are intended only to make
sure as many people as possible can enjoy the Photo of the
Week.
If you would like to submit a photo now, please choose
one of the following two methods of submitting a
photograph to Arborwood.com. Of course, if you have
any questions about either method, please feel free to ask
for help from our staff. Click here to return to
this week's Arborwood.com Photo
of the Week. |

In addition to your home address, we would greatly
appreciate the following information so that we can write
a bit about the photo and its photographer:
- Your name and location.
- What the photo is of and where it was taken.
- What you were doing when you took the photo. (e.g.
vacation, birdwatching, etc.)
- The type of camera, film, and any additional
equipment used, if known.

E-mail your photo - If you captured your photo
using a digital camera or you have access to a scanner, you may wish
to e-mail your photo to us. If so, please read on...
First, if you used a digital camera, please make sure the
photo is of good quality (i.e. "fine" quality was
used). Then, just send the original file, if available, in any
common format (preferably JPEG, BMP, or TIFF) to submit@arborwood.com,
typing in the body of the e-mail the additional
information mentioned above.
Please try to send your photo to us with the highest resolution
possible (preferably at least 800x600 pixels). We can always
reduce the size once we receive it. You will receive an e-mail
reply letting you know if the file is properly received.
If you will be using a scanner to scan in a developed
photo, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Refer to your scanner's instruction manual for help on how to
use your scanner. While we are willing to help as much as
possible, we simply do not know enough about all of the possible
scanners out there to provide tech support.
- Please try to scan the photo as straight as possible.
While we can fix a crooked picture to some degree, some quality
is always lost in this procedure.
- Always send your photo to us with the highest resolution
possible. We can always reduce the size of your photo once
we receive it, but it's impossible to improve clarity from a
small and low-resolution image. Your best bet is to send
the file as it is originally scanned from your scanner software.
- Although any common image format can be used to save your
file, we would prefer to receive your image in JPEG, BMP, or
TIFF format. If using JPEG format, please refrain from
using too high of a compression value, such that it could
diminish the quality of the photo.
- Again, quality is most important. Please avoid
sending very small files or highly compressed image files.
An ideal resolution is at least 800x600 pixels in
size.
Once your image file meets the above criteria, please e-mail your
photo as an attachment to submit@arborwood.com,
typing in the body of the e-mail the additional
information mentioned above..
Remember, while we can't guarantee that we'll be able to provide
technical support for every issue, please send
any questions about the image submission process to our staff. |
